| P. Michael Murphy has served as Coroner for Clark County since June 2003 and Assistant Coroner/Coroner Recommended ten months previously. In addition, he served as the Interim Director of Juvenile Justice Services for Clark County from August 2005 until January 2006.
As Coroner, Mr. Murphy brings thirty years of law enforcement experience to the position, working for the city of Las Vegas Department of Detention and Enforcement as a Deputy Chief. Mr. Murphy also served for nine years as the Chief of Police for the City of Mesquite. Additionally, he worked for the Boulder City Police Department as a Captain. He began is law enforcement career as a police officer for Kansas City Kansas Police Department.
Michael has served on numerous committees on the federal, state and local level.
Michael has a doctoral degree is Business Administration with California Pacific University. He received Administrator of the Year Award from ASPA’s Nevada Chapter in 2004.
P. Michael Murphy has been a guest lecturer and instructor regarding law enforcement topics and a wide variety of motivational presentations. He has been honored to provide instructional guidance internationally to law enforcement agencies in Russia, China & Azerbaijan.
